"NO MACRO ETCHING EXAM,
                NO CLEARANCE" -- TMG

No Clearance Certificates or Permit for shipment, shall be issued, effective May 17, 2001, by the Traffic Management Group" (TMG). Instead, "all TMG personnel are directed to intensify its drive and implement Republic Act 6539, known as the Anti-Carnapping Law". This is the Order issued by Philippine National Police General Renato Paredes, TMG Chief to Colonel Demosthenes Felix of District lV, TMG Command.
According to Senior Police Officer 1 (SPO1) Rolando T. Reyes, Deputy Provincial Chief based at Poctoy Station, Odiongan, Romblon, he received the Directive on May 25, and said, "will carry out the order immediately". Among the instructions contained in the Order,SPO1 Reyes was directed to coordinate with the shipping lines and vessel operators and submit a report of all vehicles, engines, chassis and body number transported, within 7 days to the National Police Headquarters.
SPO1 Reyes appeals to truck owners and motorized banca operators to subject their respective engines, chassis and body of vehicles for routine inspection and macro etching exam. "The inspection and macro etching to be conducted by our group is free"., the TMG Deputy Provincial Chief said. SPO1 Reyes announced that "engine owners and transport operators are only required to produce the documents of their units with no fees or charges to be imposed on them", the be medaled police official, finally said.
