DR. CABRERA FILED ECONOMIC RESOLUTION
Dr. Jose Cesar "Joey" Cabrera, Sangguniang Panlalawigan Member in the Second District, proposed a resolution in a regular session of Sangguniang Panlalawigan last August 6, 2001 to open Philippines Overseas Employees Agency (POEA) Sub-office in Romblon, Romblon for District I and in Odiongan for Distict II.
He proposed that all applicants bound overseas must remit their salary thru a local bank based in Romblon so that the income of the province will increase rapidly. The massive recruitment activities that will be induced by these two offices, will improve our economy as soon as POEA gives its approval to the said resolution.Cabrera believed that this is the cheapest way to combat poverty in Romblon."We don't need a very big capital outlay here to finance its operation, what we need are highly skilled and educated manpower resources of Romblon," he further said.
